Coach Adam Depmore

Coach Adam Coach Adam is the Head coach and directs the training of all the swimming groups for Lone Star. An avid fitness enthusiast, Adam's training philosophy has always been Quality over Quantity.

Adam began coaching as soon as he graduated High school from Round Rock in '01. He went on to become the Head coach of Lone Star Aquatics San Marcos where he studied Exercise and Sports Science and contracted through the Air Force where he became an Officer.

While in the service, Adam founded a masters swim team and trained service members on swim instruction and physical fitness. With an Excellent score on all of his fitness tests, Adam tested members on VO2 max and served as the 392nnd Thor Warriors Physical Training Leader (PTL). Adam returned to Round Rock with a vast knowledge of Exercise Physiology and became the Head coach of Lone Star North.

Since Adam has coached, Lone Star has had numerous swimmers qualify for STAGS all the way up to the National level. Since becoming Head Coach, Lone Star has had several swimmers sign with top Division 1 colleges such as UT and Texas A&M.

Outside the pool, Adam spends time as a personal trainer where he practices with medicine balls, kettlebells, free weights, and climbing ropes.

Coach Matt Marchant

Coach Matt Coach Matt comes to us from the University of Texas at Austin. He has graduated with a degree in General Kinesiology. Matt's training style emphasizes technique to assist all ability levels in becoming better swimmers. Through the combination of his studies and experience Matt is able to deliver quality technical training to any age that is willing to learn and strive for excellence. Matt has certification in ASCA at Level 1.

Coach Megan Falkenberry

Coach Megan Megan recently graduated from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia with a B.A. in Geography. An avid aquatics enthusiast, Megan has been involved in swimming for 15 years, swimming for Providence Aquatics Club in Rhode Island, for her high school, open water swimming as well as coaching all ages.
Megan's unique approach to swimming has already led to outstanding results with the team. She finds that a delicate balance between diet, cross training and water training yields the best results for improvement and success. Megan will start her second season with Lone Star as she continues to develop the Junior and Senior swim groups.

Coach Lara Ruthven

Coach Lara Coach Lara brings to the team added knowledge and experience both as a coach and athlete. Lara earned a Master's degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education from California State University, Chico. She received her Undergraduate degree from The University of Texas in Kinesiology where she was a member of the UT swim team. Lara was Conference Champion in 1992 & 1993 in the 400 IM. She was an Olympic Trials qualifier in both the 400 IM and 200 backstroke in 1992.

Coach Lara has been coaching and teaching swimming since she was 15 years old. She is also currently the Team leader of the Masters Swimming program at the Chasco Y in Round Rock.

Lara's coaching philosophy is based on a foundation of stroke technique and quality training. Through quality training and great technique each swimmer can develop their maximum strength and efficiency to achieve their swimming goals. Lara believes that swimming is a unique sport that can help kids develop self-esteem, discipline and goal setting skills for life.

Off the deck, Lara is a mom of four children and continues to train and compete in triathlons to stay healthy and fit.
