Dear Parents and Swimmers,
I would like to take this time to personally congratulate each and every one of you for your commitment since the commencement
of the Short Course season. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed. Practice attendance has been incredible with full lanes daily.
Parents, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to get your kids to practice, as we all know swimming is a more time consuming
sport than most. Practicing nearly every day is an important factor for success in swimming. Our swimmers from 4-5 have been making
great progress and some of these swimmers are even competing this weekend which is very exciting. The 5-6/6:30 practice has been
outstanding with near perfect attendance with swimmers displaying the willingness to work hard. These swimmers have experienced an
increase in yardage recently and are responding very well and rising to the occasion. I am continually amazed at the talent and hard
work of our senior and elite groups who have also recently begun dryland training. This level of training is vigorous and these
swimmers have stepped up in order to reach TAGS and Sectional cuts.
Coach Jacie and I were so proud of each and every swimmer this past weekend in San Antonio. This was the first meet ever for some
and they far exceeded any of my expectations for so early in the season. I cannot wait to watch our swimmers excel this weekend at
UT. Lone Star certainly is a force to be reckoned with and we will certainly make a statement at this meet.
Parents, continue to be supportive of your swimmers. They are working extremely hard right now and they continue to need positive
reinforcement. Not only do you have incredible athletes, you have incredible children as well. I am thrilled to have the opportunity
to work with them on a daily basis. They have taught me just as much as I have taught them thus far. Thank you for your commitment to
Lone Star, we couldn't do it without you.
Swimmers, keep up the good work! All the coaches are pleased with the results so far and we want to stay on this track for the rest
of the season. I know you'll be excited by the results. Sometimes it is easy to lose focus but let's remember our goals for of the
season. Feel free to discuss with us the goals we have for you, as well as the goals you have for yourselves. We're always here for
you. Good luck to everyone swimming this weekend!
Best,
Coach Megan
